Founder, Lady Bird Water Co
Christian Barajas grew up in construction. His dad built his own business, Christian spent years on jobs alongside him, and he went on to earn a Construction Science degree from Texas A&M. Today he works in luxury residential home building, where the standard is that nothing gets covered up until it is right.
Lady Bird Water Co is what he is building of his own.
Water here is not the same from one city to the next, and Christian's view is that most homeowners never find out what is actually in theirs. People think about what they drink and stop there, when the same water is what you shower in, what runs through your fixtures, and what your appliances run on every day. Coming from construction, he has seen what water does to a house over time, and he does not think a family should have to settle for the cheapest system on the shelf to fix it.
He also grew up as the oldest of three, told by every coach and every adult that people would follow him, and he spent a good while wanting no part of it. He came around. Leading well is now the thing he is most deliberate about, for his brothers, for his family, and for whoever ends up working alongside him here.
What he wants Lady Bird to be is simple: the name people in Austin think of when they want their water handled properly, by someone who will tell them straight what their home needs and then stand behind the work.
Greater Austin is not one water story. Austin Water delivers about 93 ppm total hardness, roughly 5.4 grains per gallon, because it runs a lime softening process at the plant. Cedar Park draws from the same Lake Travis system with no softening step and delivers 183 ppm, about 10.7 grains. Round Rock ranged from 184 to 358 ppm in 2024 depending on the blend reaching a given part of the system.
So we start with your address, not with a system. We read what your utility publishes, tell you what it says, and recommend only what that report supports.
Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Lakeway and Hutto. Christian is based in Cedar Park, so this is the water he lives with too.
Every install is done by a professional installer, right here in Greater Austin. If anything about the job turns out different on the day, you approve the change before work starts.
